| At DeVine Cellars, we are always on the lookout for ground-breaking/new/interesting/local products to jump behind. So it was with Otherside Brewing, when they were very young, very much connected to the local music scene and "Gypsy" brewing all over town. We knew a good thing when we tasted it being "brewed with the best of ingredients" and stocked the beers as soon as we came into contact with them.
It has been a whirlwind of developments for this inspired crafty bunch in the last few years with their own brewery appearing in Myaree then Brewhouse following soon after, but they haven't forgotten their roots, staying true to their ideals to "make beers we want to drink and then we share them with the world". First up was the classic Festive Ale and a couple of "Pilot Brews" which have made their way into the impressive Core Range. The range has since included single brews in their "Experimental" and "Creative" Releases which have also been critically acclaimed.
Importantly, their support of local artists has been a feature of their local community-mindedness, in their commissioning of outstanding local artists such as Perth-born, Melbourne-based photographer Maegan Brown, whose design graces the label of the 2020 Headliner IIPA. Utilising "the double exposure technique to layer two images into the one in a nod to the complexity of the double IPA", she has created a totally appropriate label for this standout brew.
