Cannabis: An Emerging Treatment for Common Symptoms in Older Adults

Journal of the American Geriatrics Society conducted an anonymous survey with 568 participants over the age of 65.
 
The study conducted by researchers at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine found that 53% of the participants used cannabis regularly, either daily or weekly. The majority (78%) used cannabis for medical purposes only, with 73% of the participants using cannabis for pain or arthritis issues.

Cannabidiol (CBD) modulation of apelin in acute respiratory distress syndrome

The Dental College of Georgia and the Medical College of Georgia conducted a study to find out if CBD can assist those who contracted COVID-19.

The study found that CBD appears to increase the levels of a natural peptide called apelin, which reduces inflammation. This is important because the "cytokine storm", which is when the body attacks its own cells and tissues instead of fighting a virus, maybe fueling some deaths in people with COVID-19. The CBD assists in normalizing the levels, and lung function, which is potentially helping to reduce how many people succumb to COVID-19.

Cannabidiol and Sports Performance: a Narrative Review of Relevant Evidence and Recommendations for Future Research

A recent study that was published in Sports Medicine found that CBD has the possibility of assisting athletes in caring for their bodies from damage that can occur when working out or playing sports. 

The study's conclusions were that CBD can help athletes in many ways including reducing pain and inflammation, protecting against gastrointestinal damage, healing with bone issues, managing sports-related performance anxiety, and a few other benefits.
