These sticks are delicious and our prices are nuts. The deal is made possible due to the economic reality of a cigar factory. There is a constant struggle to manage production, even more challenging for those factories that contract produce, i.e. those that make private labels for others (and almost all factories do some form of contract production). For example, My Father makes Tatuaje & La Aroma de Cuba. Fuente makes Ashton. AJ Fernandez, Oliva, Raices Cubanas, Nestor Plasencia, etc, they all make cigars for brand owners who have little to no production of their own, such Rocky Patel, Aging Room, Caldwell, Alec Bradley, Padilla, and on and on. What these factories aim to do is keep rollers humming when things are slow by getting ahead – such as building up inventory of cigar brands they think their clients will need, even if they don't have orders in-hand (rather than lay off workers or have them sit on their hands). But....shiatsu happens. Purchase orders get canceled, projections get miscalculated, or an ill-timed cash crunch hits. Suddenly factories need to transform that already rolled cigar inventory into dollars. And because they don't own the brand names, they can't sell them banded and packaged - instead they have to offload them in naked or generic looking bundles. These here are first-quality premiums (not 2nds). That's right. Premium long-filler handmades. The catch is I can't tell you the exact blend. These hail from one specific Nicaraguan factory, one you're likely very familiar with. Some of the sizes and shapes may give it away, but my lips are sealed. Put it this way: if these nude sticks had bands on, instead of 2-buck-chuck, you'd be looking at 7, 8, or 12 bucks all day. You've seen other deals on nude overruns. But trust me. Our nudes are way more stimulating than theirs! Grrrr. |
